Shepherd’s Pie



500g lamb mince or beef mince
1 small onion diced
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 red chilli diced
1/2 cup chopped coriander
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cumin seed
1 teaspoon cumin powder
2 tablespoon oil
4 ripe diced tomato or use 1 tin tomato
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 cup grated cheese
1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/2 cup warm water


4 big Potatoes
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon soft butter
3 tablespoon liquid


Step 1

In a pan heat oil

Step 2

Add cumin seed and add mince on high heat and stir

Step 3

Add garlic, ginger and chilli and onion keep stirring

Step 4

Add tomato , salt , cumin powder and tomato paste Stir

Step 5

Add 1/2 cup water and cook further until water dries and thick sauce appear Add coriander stir and take off the heat set aside .

Step 6

Peel the potatoes and sliced into thin round shape

Step 7

In a pot add enough water and sliced potato and bring to boil , add little salt

Step 8

Cook until potatoes and soft

Step 9

Drain the cooked potatoes

Step 10

Mash the potatoes by adding butter and milk

Step 11

Baking Procedure

Step 12

In a oblong oven fish Spread the cooked mince evenly

Step 13

Than spread mashed potato evenly

Step 14

Sprinkle the grated cheese

Step 15

Bake for 20 minute on 160 degree
